Tasmania’s first Drought Ready Tasmania Forum will be held on Wednesday 1 November 2023 from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm at The Grange in pantukina, Campbell Town.
The free event will bring people together from all around Tasmania to share a conversation and showcase the state’s economic, environmental and social resilience to drought.
Event topics and themes include technology and tools for primary producers, agricultural business practices, food security, wellbeing and social resilience of our communities as well as the Australian government’s perspectives of drought, state government planning for severe weather impacts, and the FDF.
There will be informative displays and a workshop session about drought risks, preparedness and resilience for the regions of Tasmania.
The event will feature presentations from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Renewables, Climate and Future Industries Tasmania, Northern Tasmanian Alliance for Resilient Councils, Rural Alive and Well, Ag Logic, NRM South, UTAS, Farmbot, Regenerative Agriculture Network of Tasmania, NatureBase, Rural Business Tasmania, East Coast Primary Producers Association, and many more.
The Drought Ready Tasmania Forum is an ideal place for representatives from local government, businesses, industry and communities to make connections and establish relationships as part of the FDF’s Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program.
The upcoming drought resilience planning process in the north, northwest and southern regions of Tasmania will bring key stakeholders together around common objectives to prioritise actions to build community preparedness and respond effectively in times of drought.
Places are limited at the free 2023 Drought Ready Forum event and registrations are required online.
