Tasmanian designer jewellery label Francesca have created 'The Conservation Charm' - a beautiful piece of jewellery which will give back to the community. For every charm sold, Francesca will plant a tree.
Landcare Tasmania is proud to be partnering with a conscious local business. Two sisters, Hannah and Rachel Vasicek have grown a flourishing business from humble beginnings at Salamanca Markets where Hannah sold her jewellery at the age of 16.
With all their success, the Francesca team make sure they are giving back.
"Giving back is at the centre of what we do at Francesca. One of our core values and something we try and live by is "Success means nothing, unless you're giving back"
Each month Francesca supports a different cause with their Awareness Bracelets - since the beginning of the campaign they have donated over one million dollars to charities across Australia.
The charm features two hands surrounding a branch. It is not dissimilar to the 'Landcare hands', in that it evokes the sense of 'taking care'. Francesca wanted to use their new range of charms to not just to give back, but to get involved.
"When designing a range of new charms last year, we knew we wanted to create a charm that gave back in the same way our Awareness Bracelet does."
"We had the idea to plant a tree for every charm sold. This in turn would enable us to become involved in our community, do something good for the earth, and also step in the right direction of becoming a more environmentally conscious company."
"Supporting Landcare Tasmania enables us to do this, so we couldn't be more proud to be partnering with them for this initiative."
Getting involved
In 2021, Francesca staff took part in a tree planting day with their team so they could all be more involved in community activities.
"We're excited to see the impact this little charm will have in the big picture."
