Tasman Peninsula Swift Parrot Painting Workshop

You've probably heard of Swifties, but how much do you really know about the world's fastest parrot?

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Join us with Tasman Landcare and a local artist as we try our hand at nature painting, focusing on the endangered swift parrot.

Families will spend the morning session capturing nature on paper with inspiration from the local wildlife with watercolour paints from Artery. Children will be painting nature in nature.

This is an all ages event, encouraging local families to hone their artistic skills, while gaining insights into the critically endangered Swift Parrot that lives in your backyard!

We will talk a bit on the day about how special the Swift Parrot is, its habitat, diet, tips to identify and some quirky facts about this speedy little parrot.

Take home your Swift Parrot masterpiece and share what you learn on the day with your family and friends.

BRING: drink, snack, hat, jacket.

NOTE: Parent/guardian supervision is required for the event duration for children under 13.

This workshop is part of Landcare Tasmania's Landscape Restoration and Community Outreach programs and is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by NRM South, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.

Thank you to Artery for the support in acquiring art supplies for this event.
