Tasmanian Landcarers' effort in Clean up Australia Day

08 Mar 2020. Clean Up Australia Day 2020 saw some fantastic clean-up efforts from Landcare groups across the state. A few of them have sent in some photos. If your group would like to be featured, please get in touch!

Glebe Hill Bushland Reserve Landcare Group and UTAS Landcare Society joined forces at the Glebe Hill Reserve for a clean up and a walk around the reserve.

Dolphin Sands Ratepayers Association Inc. hosted a Clean Up Australia Day event at Bagot Point, Dolphin Sands.  Group members and the local SES brought the SES trailer to haul away the waste. Also helping out were a local Councillor, a Parks officer and a weed expert.

"We collected a surprising amount of rubbish. Our weed expert identified a small patch of the dreaded coastal weed Sea Spurge. We removed one parent plant but hundreds of seedlings. We'll keep a closer eye on the area in future to try to catch any new Sea Spurge colonies before they get established."

Seven Mile Beach Coastcare  hosted a Clean Up Australia Day event as well. Check out the before and after photos. Great work everyone!
