Threatened Species Day with Kingborough Council

This event is part of Landcare Tasmania's 25th Anniversary Statewide Community Outreach Event program. - run by our members, volunteers, and staff.

National Threatened Species Day

This year for National Threatened Species Day, Landcare Tasmania is teaming up with our partner Kingborough Council for a fun day of activities raising awareness of local threatened species. We'll be supported by Fifteen Trees and Landcare Tas member groups including Threatened Plants Tasmania, and local Kingborough care groups.

No experience necessary! Come out and enjoy:

  • Planting habitat for Swift Parrots
  • Surveying for the Tasmanian endemic Epacris virgata (pretty heath)
  • Free BBQ
  • Tools provided, but bring a GPS unit if you have one (or a mobile with the HandyGPS app)
  • Meet your local Landcare groups

Everyone is welcome, so grab a friend and RSVP to BJ at the number below. We will have displays and information about Swift Parrots and their habitats and some other related projects.

You can read more about Swift Parrots, their habitat, and how you can help here.
