Landcare Volunteer Training - Weed eradication in Kingston

Do you want to make a positive impact on your local environment? Do you want to meet like-minded people? Would you like to see if volunteering with Landcare is for you? If yes, then come along to a weeding event in Kingston!

This event is for people who have little experience volunteering with Landcare, so we will be there to provide expert guidance and help where needed.

We will be weeding bushland that is one of the few remaining patches of bush in that area. This makes it significant habitat for local wildlife and plants, as well as being good for the people that live there. So making sure it's healthy and free of weeds is an important job!

It is an opportunity to get in touch with some local Landcare groups and be introduced to the world of Landcare. And of course we would love to have your help!

All tools will be provided.

Please bring:

  • Sturdy shoes
  • Clothing that will protect your legs and arms (e.g. long trousers and a top)
  • Hat
  • Warm clothing
  • Water bottle
  • Snack

It is important that you come prepared for the weather and for walking around on uneven ground in the bush.

The location is in the bush land behind 56 Corlacus Drive. It will be signposted - look for the Landcare sign

This project is in partnership with the Kingborough Council and received funding from the Australian Government’s Communities Environment Program.
