We’re launching The Gathering 2026

Something new is coming for Tasmania’s Landcare community.

We’re excited to launch the Tasmanian Community Landcare Gathering 2026, a statewide event designed to support the people who keep Landcare going and strengthen the networks behind community-led action.

Taking place in Deloraine from 6–8 November 2026, The Gathering will bring together volunteers, landholders, community leaders and partners from across the state through practical learning, connection and on-ground experience.

The Gathering is designed to reflect how Landcare actually works — through people, relationships and action on the ground. Across the weekend, participants will have opportunities to build practical skills, share ideas, learn from others and connect with people facing similar challenges in their communities.

The program will include workshops, peer learning, field trips and activities focused on strengthening leadership, coordination, communication and community capacity. It will also create space to recognise and celebrate the contribution of Landcarers across Tasmania.

Anchored in Deloraine — the site of the first statewide Landcare gathering more than 30 years ago — the event also has potential for field trips and local activities in other regions, helping create broader opportunities for participation and connection.

The Gathering is part of a bigger vision to strengthen community-led Landcare across Tasmania. In 2025 alone, Landcarers contributed more than 144,000 volunteer hours to environmental outcomes across the state. The Gathering exists to support and grow that incredible community effort.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more information about the program, tickets, partnerships, volunteering opportunities and ways to get involved.
