The first of our event/working bees, 'Welcoming the Shearwaters' will be held at Red Ochre Beach on Sunday October 23 at 5pm. Come and sit around a fire drum, drink some billy tea, eat cake and hear all about these magnificent birds that fly all the way from the Arctic to Tasmania - including Dodges Ferry's Spec' Islands - to breed. We also hope to be attaching the Shearwater mosaics (created during A Day on the Marsh) to the rocks at Red Ochre Beach. First up will be weeding - an hour of pulling out baby boneseed seedlings that have sprung up after recent rains. Easy weeding, good company - and you get to relax and chill out afterwards with a cuppa. Meet on Red Ochre beach at the Parnella St end, near the cliffside boatsheds. See you there!
