This will be a planting/fencing event and subject to receiving a grant for fencing materials. Should the grant not be approved, the event will not take place. Weldborough Landcare will have approx 500 white gums, 150 pepperberry, 300 pittosporum bicolour, 200 daisy bush, 300 dolly bush, 100 ferns, 70 blackwoods and possibly more to plant this season. Currently most tree guards are in use and required for another season due to heavy grazing. Subject to the grant, several smaller areas (15-30m diameter) will get planted out with some species going in corflutes or mesh guards. The activity will include setting up star pickets and wire fencing and planting. To those who wish, it's a great way to come and enjoy the area and see the work that has been carried out the past 3 years. Holly management is also at the forefront of what we do, and walks through managed areas can be organised. Anyone wanting to stay more than 1 day can do so (camping at the pub or free camp area down the road).
