West Coast Project

Restoring high-value habitat and controlling weeds on the West Coast.

The goal of this project is to restore and extend areas of biodiverse native vegetation, on three sites adjacent to a unique coastal reserve in Western Tasmania. These sites require restoration methods specific to the vegetation types including remnant native forest, former pine plantation, coastal grassland and herb fields.

Key activities include:

  • Hosting workshops to educate the community on ecosystem restoration techniques.
  • Supporting the Friends of the Henty through organised volunteer events.
  • Employing casual workers for weed control, and to complement the efforts of local volunteers.
