Wetland Restoration Workshop

Join us for a day all about an essential component of Tasmania's vegetation: Freshwater wetlands! Freshwater wetlands in Australia have been severely degraded over the last 200 years, and are one of the most valuable types of habitat for birds, frogs, and insects in the country. Learn all about their ecology, the impacts of recent land management changes, hydrology, and how they can be repaired!

What to expect:

On the day we will:

  • Hear from Nature Glenelg Trust's Bec Sheldon about their approach to freshwater wetland repair across Australia and in Tasmania
  • Hear from Anna Minchin from Landcare Tasmania - an intro to Farm Dam Enhancement Techniques
  • Learn about the Lauderdale artificial wetland
  • Have a Q&A on legalities on Dams and Wetland Restoration

What to bring:

Lunch and morning tea will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Bring a drinkbottle and some questions!
