Seed Collecting and Plant Pressing Workshop
Ruth Mollison (Understorey Network) and Dr Tanya Scharaschkin (local Collinsvale botanist) will share their knowledge about native seed collecting and pressing plants. They will demonstrate protocols and procedures that will enable you to create your own native plant nursery or start a herbarium collection.
This will be a fun and relaxed workshop for all ages. Children must be accompanied by adults.
Please RSVP as numbers are limited.
What to bring: If you are a note taker, please bring something to write on and something to write with. You might want to bring a picnic blanket or camp chair to sit on. Feel free to bring a snack and a drink with you (there are no shops in Collinsvale). Toilets are located at the Hall.
Safety: Please dress appropriately for the weather (it could be wet and windy, or hot and sunny). Bring a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. The walking track and ground around the Landcare container is uneven. Please wear good walking shoes.
Directions: Meet at the "Landcare Container" opposite the Dog Park. Drive up Hall Road, and continue to drive past the Collinsvale Memorial Hall, the Fire Station and the Machinery Club. The "Landcare Container" will be on your right, up a small slope. We will start at 2pm.
Other information: This event is being held with the support of Landcare Tasmania and Glenorchy City Council. It is being held on the same day as the monthly Collinsvale Market (10am to 2pm).
