Wilmot Willows Busted

Our group started from the local canoe club who were finding the willows in our local rivers a problem for paddling, safety and accessing the water.  in about 2018 we began removing willows from our club property.  Since then community members have been joining our working bees.  Our long term aim is to free the Forth of crack willows upstream of our club.  Clearing the Wilmot River was a priority with work taking place since 2020.  In 2024 we commenced work on willows between Paloona and the canoe club. Hydro Tas are assisting with a planned program in March 2025.  Our club is located 3.5km below Paloona.  Volunteers who aren't canoe club members are welcome to join in working-bees.
