Wilmot Willows Busted
Our group is a canoe/kayak club who are finding the willows in our local rivers a problem for paddling, safety and accessing the water and shore. Recently we have removed willows from our club property. Our aim is to free the Forth of willows (below Paloona to our club and the lower reaches of the Wilmot River). We have working bees at our club and during this time members remove other invasive weeds. A small group of us are motivated to take some action on clearing the upstream water way of crack willows. We expect this to be an ongoing project over many years. Once we get started and make progress we are hopeful of recruiting Hydro Tas and other state organizations to assist. Our club is located 3.5km below Paloona.
