KILG will reimburse volunteers’ costs to travel to maintain a nursery facility for the first year in a long term project. 5 field days and on-going mentoring will increase: awareness of native vegetation and biodiversity importance; knowledge of King Island’s unique flora, and seed collection and treatments. Provide support for community participants to propagate plants with local provenance for either personal or community projects to re-vegetate and augment existing habitat. A stock of native plant seed and tube stock using local provenance will be available for re-vegetation projects.
