Friday | Wildwood After Dark

Moth Night & Nocturnal BioBlitz

Date:
Friday 6 November 2026, from 7.00 pm

Starting point:
Empire Hotel, Deloraine

Cost and participation:
Free, ticketed event. Places are limited.

Start the evening at the Empire Hotel with a 30 minute moth talk, then head out after dark for a live moth hunt and nocturnal BioBlitz at Wildwood Reserve.

Hosted by Wildwood Landcare Group, the evening brings together local knowledge and specialist expertise for a closer look at the moths, beetles, spiders and other small creatures active after dark. With expert entomologists along for the night, you’ll discover more about the nocturnal life of the Meander River and Wildwood Reserve, and some of the species that only really come to life after sunset.

The moth hunt will take place at Wildwood Reserve, a short walk from the Empire Hotel.
