The Gathering Program

Learn. Connect. Take action

Landcare Tasmania is the statewide peak body for community Landcare, working to strengthen and support the people and communities caring for the land and waters of Lutruwita/Tasmania.

The Gathering brings that purpose to life by bringing people together -  volunteers, coordinators, farmers, landholders, community groups, organisations and partners — to learn from each other, celebrate what’s being achieved, build skills, share knowledge and make useful connections, while helping shape what the next decade of community Landcare could look like.

The program starts with three days together in Deloraine, with opportunities for Landcare communities to extend The Gathering across Tasmania through locally hosted field trips, working bees and activities.

What does The Gathering look like?

Friday 6 November - Connect
Arrive, settle in and ease into the weekend with local activities, social gatherings and opportunities to catch up and meet people from across the Landcare community.

Registrations open.  Program coming soon.

Saturday 7 November - Learn & celebrate
The heart of The Gathering. The Meet Up brings together peer learning, workshops, panels and small-group conversations where real experience meets practical expertise — with plenty of space to connect, ask questions and share ideas.

Then, come together for The Celebration - an evening of food, music, good conversations and celebrating the people and communities who make Landcare happen.

Meet Up and Celebration tickets available now.

Sunday 8 November - Get out there
See Landcare in action through field trips, working bees and on-ground experiences hosted by Landcare communities.

While the main Gathering weekend is based in Deloraine, community hosted activities will extend The Gathering to other parts of Tasmania, creating opportunities to visit projects, share local knowledge and get involved on the ground.  See Field Trips for more information.

Field trip program and registrations coming soon.

The program will continue to grow as we get closer to November, with speakers, activities and more opportunities to take part added along the way.
