Alternative models of community Landcare, using real world success stories.

Amanda is an ecologist interested in nature connection, ecoliteracy and cultivation of community.

This talk explores alternative models of community Landcare, using real world success stories.

Sometimes when we think of starting or facilitating Landcare groups, the first thoughts can be of office bearers and forms, or a daunting feeling of wondering how to get unknown neighbours engaged. This talk will discuss how there are many ways to do meaningful work for the environment, the structure of groups can change over time, and how to design community Landcare to suit your lifestyle and your values.

Drawing on experience as the co-creator of The Earth Collective, convenor of one of Tasmania's oldest groups - Waverley Flora Park Landcare, and facilitator of groups such as Tasman Landcare Group, the talk will explore what has made each group succeed in it's own way, and share some of the stories behind them.
