Sunday | Dens for Devils, Bush for Bandicoots, Dams for Diversity

Sunday 8 November | 8.45am–2.00pm
Meet at Deloraine Train Park, 15 West Parade, Deloraine.

Bus transport to and between the field sites is included, returning to Deloraine at approximately 2.00pm.

Join West Tamar Landcare for a field trip through the Little Supply River area at Glengarry, exploring three decades of community led Landcare across a series of local farms.

Travelling by bus between four sites, you’ll see how restoration work changes and develops over time, from a watercourse where willow control is complete and riparian plantings are now around 20 years old, to new habitat restoration designed with Eastern Barred Bandicoots in mind.

Along the way, West Tamar Landcare will share ideas for creating habitat for devils and quolls using natural materials, explore different approaches to improving farm dams and waterways, and talk about cat management in the Lower West Tamar.

This is a chance to see established, emerging and experimental Landcare projects side by side, and hear directly from local Landcarers about what they have learnt through 30 years of working in this landscape.

Snacks, drinks and a light lunch are provided.

Before you book

Participants should be comfortable walking at least 1 km across uneven and sometimes steep terrain and getting on and off the bus several times. Suitable outdoor footwear and weather appropriate clothing are essential.
