Friday & Saturday | Landcare Digital Library and Training Support

Date:
Friday 6 November 2026, 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Saturday 7 November 2026, throughout the Meet Up

Location:
Deloraine Community Complex

Cost and participation:
Free for anyone to drop in on Friday. On Saturday, Meet Up participants can access Digital Library support throughout the day.

Landcare groups hold years of valuable knowledge in reports, maps, photographs, newsletters, project records and other material. The challenge is making sure that knowledge is not lost, and that it can still be found and used by the people who come next.

As part of Landcare Tasmania’s Landcare Knowledge Exchange: Digital Library & Training Series, we’re developing a secure, searchable digital library to safeguard environmental knowledge and help Landcare members build the skills to use it.

Bring along some of your own records if you’d like to try the process with real material, or simply drop in and we’ll show you how the Digital Library works.

You’ll see how to upload documents, organise them properly and make sure they are digitally preserved, searchable and easier to find and use in the future.

What to bring

You’re welcome to bring a sample of your own Landcare records, such as:

• reports and project documents
• maps and plans
• photographs and albums
• newsletters, flyers or posters
• meeting or group records
• other material that captures the work and history of your Landcare group

There’s no need to bring anything to take part. You can simply come along and see how the Digital Library works.

Part of The Gathering

Digital Library support is available during the Friday Social Gathering and throughout the Saturday Meet Up.

The Landcare Tasmania Digital Library has been developed with support from auDA through the auDA Foundation Community Grant Program.
