Taroona Bandicoot bunker and erosion control planting

Local students from Taroona High School will conduct this planting in order to stabilise the soil and create habitat which is suitable for Bandicoots.

Bandicoot bunkers are wooden structures or dense native plants which provide an ideal home for bandicoots. These Bandicoots are important prey species for our native birds of prey such as the endangered Wedge Tailed Eagle.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Taroona Environment Network and is part of Landcare Tasmania's Rodenticide Awareness Program. Funding for this project came from the Australian Government's Communities Environment Program.

This event is by invite only.
