Field Trips

Get out there and see Landcare in action.

Field Trips take The Gathering out into the places where Landcare happens -  visiting projects, meeting the people behind them and sharing practical experience on the ground.

On Sunday, locally hosted activities around Deloraine will give Gathering participants the chance to explore projects and landscapes, hear the stories behind the work and learn directly from Landcare communities, thanks to support from the Meander Valley Council.

But The Gathering doesn’t stop in Deloraine. Landcare communities across Tasmania are invited to host field trips, working bees and other activities as part of the wider Gathering program, creating opportunities to share what’s happening in their patch and get more people involved.

Host an activity

Have a project, place or story you’d like to share?

We’re inviting Landcare groups, communities and project hosts to propose activities connected to The Gathering. These could include:

  • Field trips and project visits
  • Working bees and practical activities
  • Walks, demonstrations or workshops
  • Opportunities to share local projects, knowledge and experience

Thanks to support from our partners, funding is available for selected host activities in eligible areas, helping communities share their work and to progress practical on ground outcomes at the same time.

Current supported opportunities include activities made possible through TasPorts and Meander Valley Council, each with their own eligibility requirements and available support.

Not in one of the currently funded areas? We'd still love to hear your idea. The wider Gathering program is an opportunity to connect Landcare activities across Tasmania, and there may be other ways to be involved.
