If you or someone you know has left no stone unturned in their pursuit of Landcare excellence, now is the moment to shine. Let us celebrate the hardworking folks of the Landcare community!
It's easy to nominate - all you need to do is provide a 100-300 word summary of the work of your nominee. A special recognition of these achievements will form part of this year’s Tasmanian Landcare Awards Ceremony, to be held at Spring Bay Mill on 14 October following the unmissable biannual Landcare Conference!
Tasmanian Premier’s Landcare Award: Celebrating Innovation and Inspiration
This prestigious accolade celebrates those visionaries who have redefined the meaning of Landcare. Are you or someone you know a beacon of innovation, an inspiration to the masses, or a community builder par excellence? If so, this award category is for you!
In 2021 Todd Dudley was presented with the Tasmanian Premier's Lancare Aware. Todd's 20 years of dedication to protecting and reviving ecologically significant landscapes have earned him the 2018 Peter Rawlinson Award and the prestigious SERA International Award for Restoration Excellence. His outstanding leadership in the mammoth Restore Skyline Tier project, reclaiming 2,000ha of Radiata Pine plantation back to native forest, has set the bar high for future projects.
Landcare Tasmania's CEO Peter Stronach has said: "Todd Dudley’s leadership on large scale ecosystem restoration is a shining example for future projects across the state and beyond"
This award category is open to a member of the Landcare Tasmania community who:
- Is well recognised as an innovator or role model in changing management practices; or
- Has provided inspiration to the community to adopt environmental management practices; or
- Has built widespread engagement, knowledge or understanding of Landcare in the wider community.

Roll of Honour: Celebrating Local Legends
The Roll of Honour is a tribute to those who have etched their names in Landcare history through significant contributions within their local communities. Whether it's nurturing the landscape, rallying communities, or working tirelessly behind the scenes, these Landcarers embody the true spirit of dedication. In 2021, fourteen awe-inspiring Landcarers were awarded a place on the Roll of Honour, each providing their unique contributions to Landcare through activities such as innovative agriculture, eradicating invasive species, advocating for Landcare, uniting communities and much more.

Honorary Life Membership: Unwavering Commitment
This is an honour reserved for those with longstanding dedication to Landcare Tasmania and the wider Landcare movement. Recipients of this award receive a Lifetime Individual Membership that includes all membership benefits. In 2021, Vicki Campbell and Heather Scandrett were awarded Honorary Life Memberships in recognition of their unwavering service to Landcare Tasmania. Vicki's tireless contributions across Steering Committees, Working Groups, and Assessment Panels have been immeasurable, while Heather's remarkable efforts have left a longstanding impacts on Landcare Tasmania.

Due to popular demand, we have opened 2 new categories for this year's Tasmanian Community Landcare Awards! The Tasmanian Landcare Group Award, and the Young Tasmanian Landcarer Award.
Tasmanian Landcare Group Award: Collaboration for Positive Impact
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This award category highlights the collaborative efforts of Landcare groups operating in Tasmania, showcasing their dedication, innovation, and positive impact on the local environment as a team.
This award is for Landcare Groups who have demonstrated exceptional achievements within the realm of environmental conservation and sustainable land management. Criteria for this award are on environmental impact, community engagement, sustainability and partnerships.

Young Tasmanian Landcarer Award: Future Leaders
To recognise, encourage and celebrate the efforts of a young individual who is actively engaged in Landcare and environmental conservation activities in Tasmania.
This award specifically targets younger generations, acknowledging their commitment, enthusiasm, and innovative approaches to addressing environmental challenges. This award celebrates passion, dedication, impact and initiative.

Nominated amazing Landcarers are celebrated and recognised for their efforts and contributions towards healthy landscapes in Tasmania at the 2023 Awards Dinner.

*Are you looking for the National State & Territory Landcare Awards? These awards are run by Landcare Australia and have been postponed. We anticipate that the National awards will be offered in 2024. In response to this situation, we have expanded our local Tasmanian Landcare Awards this year.
