This fun filled event will include two parts, a landcare effort in the morning, followed by some croquet in the afternoon. People of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in one or both parts of the event.
The Liena Landcare group activity will be a drill-and-fill glyphosate assault on the willows upstream of our licensed section of the Liena riverside reserve.
This will operate from 10am to 12 noon on 2nd February, and for those who can't make it that day, they may have a second 2 hour session on 3rd February (the latter to be confirmed).
This will be the first opportunity for many to use some of the new kits purchased with funding from the Agricultural Landscape Rehabilitation Scheme. Drills, reciprocating saws, glyphosate and fill bottles and personal protective equipment will be provided.
Volunteers should wear stout clothing with good skin coverage. Please also bring your own gloves and glasses if like. Should you be able to bring some wellies that might also be helpful because some shallow water wading may be required to fully access some trees.
The second part of the event will be Round Two of the 2018-19 Royal Liena Croakers Club Croquet tournament.
Roast meats and vegetables will be provided, but as larger numbers are expected, you are asked to bring along a plate of food of your choice to supplement the repast.
Croquet will begin after lunch (at about 3pm). Please also bring a sample of your preferred beverage, a folding chair or two and a change of clothes if you plan to participate in the Landcare working bee beforehand.
These two events will be the usual relaxed and informal affairs and we can find accommodate all, regardless of your state of health and enthusiasm for Landcare (and croquet).
