Ecological Restoration Workshop with SCAGI

On Sunday the 23rd October, the Seymour Community Action Group Inc. (SCAGI) are hosting an introductory session on ecological restoration.

This event will cover all the basics of ecological restoration- from the Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia (SERA) Standards on restoration, to weed control and seed collection.

We are lucky to have the SCAGI group and Todd Dudley hosting this event. Both members have a long list of awards and achievements, but to name a few: SCAGI took home a state award in 2021, winning the ACM Landcare Community Group Award. Their efforts in Seymour Swamp have succeeded in reclassifying their project area to be a part of the Seymour Conservation Area. Todd Dudley won the Australian Government Individual Landcarer Award for his ecological restoration work, among many other incredible initiatives.

Hearing from experts who are incredibly well versed in all things ecological restoration, you will receive a great introduction to how you can restore your patch, developing skills and knowledge for success.

These workshops are important in empowering the local community with the inspiration, knowledge, and skills that they need to help our environment thrive. Keep an eye out for more upcoming events in your local area.

This event will be held on 23rd October from 10am-12pm at Seymour Wetlands. RSVP here or contact [email protected] for more information.
