Tasmanian Community Landcare Conference 2023

Building Momentum: Turning Knowledge into Action

The conference weekend at Spring Bay Mill from the 13th to the 15th of October brought together the grassroots community of Landcarers from across the State over 3 days. A wide range of speakers, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, field days and networking opportunities tied into our 2023 Strategic Intents:

  • Healthy Landscapes - The environmental impact of land management and sustainability challenges in Tasmania
  • Empowered Communities - Building the capacity of the Landcare community to be well-resourced, confident, competent, and committed
  • Supportive Network - Collaboration with partners, donors, and supporters
  • Collective Voice - Effective advocacy, broad publicity and engagement
  • Strong Foundations - Effective governance, safety, and planning for the future

Landcare Tasmania acknowledges that the island of lutruwita/Tasmania is Aboriginal Land, sovereignty was not, and never will be, ceded. Aboriginal people have cared for lutruwita since the beginning of time.

We pay respects to the palawa / pakana of lutruwita and strive to fulfil our simple but collective vision –

That all Tasmanian communities are empowered and enabled to care for the land and water of lutruwita/Tasmania
